It should come as no surprise to anyone with a modicum of common sense all professional groups have associations for their own good. To that end, why should Professional Dommes be any different? We don't think so! And so, one December day in 2000, Domina Z and I sat down with Lady Leather on the phone and hammered out the basic principals and tenents of the first organization specifically by and for the Professional Dominatrix.

It has always been our intention to promote safety in play. Safety of our clients remains one of the reasons we formed this association. We want the world to know every member of our association is a highly reputable and skilled lady. She has the respect of her colleagues and peers.

We also wanted an organization we could publicize ... that would be known to share information among ourselves if a man posed a danger to us. Remember what it is we do ... remember, for the most part, we work independently, without other people around. It does tend to place us at risk. Our thoughts are to minimize our exposure to risk by sharing information about troublesome clients.

But we quickly discovered there were many benefits to our clients as well. Many of our gentlemen travel ... our membership has allowed us to quickly recommend a Lady in another part of the country. We can now do that because of our faith in one another. We know our client will be able to experience skilled, safe BDSM by a practitioner who has won the respect of her peers.

Several of us share ownership of gentlemen. (Don't you feel sorry for him? If he screws up with one of us, all of us punish him! LOL)
